My wife and I did a walkabout in the wilds of WV last week.
I saw some nice small streams. No rod was taken. (This old dog knows better.)
I thought about the current rains, the state of the Smiff, etc.
Decided I needed to hit a small stream when I got back.

It was a cool foggy morning.
61 degree air, 60 degree water.
A lot of substrate had moved.
Wood had moved. New wood added.

Fished the old 7' Fenwick and Pflueger Gem combo.
Third cast:

It was bow, bow, bow for a while.
Dry and dropper.
Then this guy violently assaulted the dry.

Now I started thinking about the slam.
I was fishing low.
And the bows seem to outmuscling the brookies.
Could it happen?

Blue Lobelia. Lobelia siphilitia.

Bow, bow, bow.
Then it happened.

And another little fukker followed.
I quit after that.
A weird spooky day in the wet woods.

Roots.

Vine.

Nettles.

And a good beer.

I'll fish higher up on the next visit.

 :cheers

Well done Doug. To the victor go the spoils. Make sure you collect your "prize".  :;!
