How many times has that been covered?

How many times has this stream been covered?
Since I semi retired, you would thing I was fishing more. Well, maybe marginally more. The garden has needed lots of maintenance this spring and my PT garden center job keeps me fairly busy. I'll fish a lot more this summer. If there is water in the streams/rivers!
This a stream Friar Tuck, J and myself have flogged repeatedly over the years. It gets low quickly, so I decided I better get after it.

Two good early wildflower finds.

The action was on top. And the best fish were caught right away, not farther up as usual. So I did not take the first 5-6 picture opportunities. Mistake.  b';

Some big holes only yielded 1 or 2 fish. Some none.
This stream gets its share of bad weather events.
The 2012 Derecho dumped a gazillion trees that still have to dealt with along the trails. Hurricane remnants a few years ago scoured it.
I had not fished it in 2 years and it looks to still be in recovery mode.

Backtracked to fish up a trib and whacked a few more to end up at about 25 feesh.
Hiked out and stopped to pick up some expensive beers for WB. Humanitarian effort.

Stopped at a nursery and picked up some plants on order for my new side gig employer.
They'll pay me enough to cover my expensive gas for the day.  :P
And I found gas available this am. Whew!

Gonna hit up another old friend stream on Thursday.
 :cheers

I think your assessment of that stream is correct.  Last time I fished it and saw how high that water had gotten out of the banks, it was a real eye opener.  You need to scout the headwaters of that stream it flows into for me Mr. Semi Retired.

I've only found fringed Polygala twice in my life. Cool find! Looks like a good day to be out there in the creek.

Nice report DF. Haven't been over there since last August when water was flowing well and still ice cold. Got one stud and a handful of others. Fish in that creek seem to really like ants.
