Fished for 1 hour today -- had already done the 2.5 mile hike w/ wife and dog in the a.m., then drove a quick few miles to my local rhodo trickle hoping the water wasn't still too cold. It was. Low temps here have been 34 last two nights, 20s before that. Managed one pune, but at least it was my first speck of 2021. It's my birthday, so I guess one fish took pity on me and took the dropper. Only one other fish was seen and promptly spooked. Aaack. At least it wasn't a skunkage, and a durn pretty day to boot!

Happy Birthday, you curmudgeon!
Thankee. My son Dave sent me quite a nice gift. He said, "Dad, you're almost 70 and still stompin' around by yourself in trout streams where there's no cell phone coverage. What if you fall and get hurt?" This is what he gave me --PLB1https://oceansignal.com/products/plb1/
Happy birthday Phil. May you have many more good years of stompin.
I won't start a new thread after looking at those huge feesh Fred posted and nice browns Woolly put up in the past couple days.I went out yesterday for 3 hours and caught a number of little specks that weren't worth pics, but managed a good-sized one that went 9 3/4" -- 10" (measured on my hand and arm where it had stretched after release). Also a fair-sized stream bow. Water was OK, clear and not too cold. They weren't swarming the fly or dropper, but it was a pretty good few hours.
as tranny would say... throw that cockroach up on the bank!
Man those specks are pretty.
Pretty Brooks , Phil---Thanks for taking us along
