Quote from: Onslow on January 12, 2021, 19:48:45 PMFor every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction.During early 2019, Nick Sandmann was accused of various things by certain media outlets. Remarks by at least one commentator suggested he deserved to be physically violated. Nick was a minor. Lawsuits were leveled, and won. In the eyes of the courts, certain outlets were deemed slanderous. I believe we can all agree Trump is full of shit, but some of Trumps critics in the media are equally full of shit. Trump talks shit, but CNN in particular has a huge fact deficit, and spin problem. After the George Floyd incident, opportunists who are bent on smashing norms, property, and others with aspirations to be petty dictators seized the opportunity to cause mayhem across the land. The justification for this violent acting out was dubious. The real BLM protests that were not violent, and clearly legit. During 2020, 432 whites were killed at the hands of police. 226 African Americans were killed. https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2020/07/03/police-black-killings-homicide-rates-race-injustice-column/3235072001/During the course of the year, there may have been one national story about a white person being killed by police. Whites dying at the hands of police just isn't newsworthy, and neither is the murder of a Mennonite mother at the hands of two black men.The grasp for ratings, moral authority were sought aggressively. Yellow journalism, bigoted condemnation of whites as a race ensued, as well as the witch hunts. Zealots were doxing, reporting pictures of OK hand gestures in private residences which is a violation of the Right to Privacy. While the riots, burning, brutality went on, then candidate Biden did not condemn the violence. He finally did when there was pushback from armed militias. Justified bigotry worn by lefties was now fashionable, and normalized. Simply opposing a very problematic POTUS dues not make one moral, just, or relevant. This has been the great Woke delusion. The lefty jackassery of recent years have provided wind for Trump's sails, but clearly hubris clouded judgement, and emotional intelligence. Meanwhile others across the land were staying composed, and hoarding ammo. Bitterness, the lack of trust in our government began to grow.It is very clear that Trump lost the election due to his own incompetence. He also appeared to be the cause for the two Senate seat losses in GA. Trump also incited emotions, and eventually the zany and embarrassing aggression on the White House. However, the events that have occurred in the last year has served as the primary catalyst for the impending disaster. Tribalism is GAF. Violence begets more violence, and the lack of trust. The Summer party is a conveniently distant memory, and much more violent season looms. The US is at a precipice. This nation has embraced a broad spectrum of bigotry, and this acid will devour our ribs, and heart. We're at the cusp of a struggle that may be a cross between a Venezuela political struggle and a Rawandan genocide. I hope I'm wrong, but we should come to terms with this possibility. Arnold stated that Nazi Germany was the most evil empire ever, but the percentage of murdered in Rawanda per capita was much higher. Best wishes for 2021. We earned it.
Quote from: Dougfish on January 12, 2021, 19:55:05 PMIt's called elections. I've survived Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump. Rode a roller coaster this long. I'll weather Biden. I expect to survive with a good economy, a good stock market, return to civility, good fishing, all my guns, a better EPA, way better climate response, better civil rights, better immigration policies, better world standing, a re-adjustment of big tech for better competition, same for big ag, big pharma, big banking, big this and that, better taxing of those big business (which leads to getting out of this horrendous debt), more good fishing, better infrastructure, a better justice system, a better energy transformation, a better environment. Sunshine, rainbows and unicorns? Nah. Good humans in charge. Positivity.
Quote from: Mudwall Gatewood 3.0 on January 12, 2021, 20:32:32 PMI just walked outside, looked up the Back Creek valley at the stars. I swear I heard them say, "I have given you CHNOPS: carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and sulfur – all you need for life. It is now up to you, and if you fuck it up, I really don't give a shit."
