are the flood ravaged streams and rivers of upstate NY going to be fishable?  I am supposed to meet Streamer up there next week to do some fishing but everything is blown out.  o-o Should we just plan to cast some rods and tell lies? ???

It sounds like the Susquhanna and Delaware watersheads got hit pretty hard.  Those 2 rivers will be out of action for a while.  North and west of there didn't get as much.  Certainly the smaller streams near the headwaters will be fishable in a week, but I would think that the Finger Lakes region might offer your best opportunities.

I suspect that they will be fishable...don't know exactly where you are headed but take a look at the usgs maps and take a look at the trends...

Pastor explains icons to my son: you know like the fish symbol on the back of cars.
My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!

I got a report from Jule a little while ago.  He said although the water was quite high it was fairly clear and receding. 0--0  Hopefully we'll find some of the smaller runs fishable on Monday. :)
