Headed up to a spot I haven't fished in a while.  Next weekend would have been a great weekend for fishing, but I have a camping trip planned that does not involve fishing, so off I was this chilly morning.  It was 29 when I left Elkin, and probably much colder in the high country.  I had planned on hitting various spots on two different streams during different times due to sunlight exposure and such.

An 8:15 AM fish. Breakfast was served.

This may be the largest bow I've ever tangled with.

Time to move on to another creek.  This creek is rather enigmatic from my perspective, and, and still don't have a complete handle on all the quirks.

10 AM, and this is still happening.

I did manage to pick a few.  The brookies weren't playing ball, but I did manage to catch 2.

This stream most certainly have some serious brookie potential.

Ramps were popping everywhere.  I indulged, and my my, what an experience.  My testicles were dancing in my scrote.

Got the heck out of dodge, and headed to another stream, the same one I stopped at between 8-10...to my secret spot.

Looks fine an a desktop, except for the defective pic, and the one with poor lighting.

Solid fishes, good stuff! I'm going to try to get out tomorrow. That bow is a fine one. He would be good filleted and grilled on a cedar plank with some ramps. :)

If the regs would have allowed, I do believe I would have consumed it.  I do plan to drag in some accoutrements up there and fry some trout and ramps streamside at some point.  I have fallen in love with my solo wood burning cookstove.  I try to find any excuse to use it.
