Per a conversation with Ken earlier in the week/weekend, I planned to fish a creek today. Per another conversation with Buddy, I found that he had a day off that would coincide with said fishing trip. He rolled into the target town last night and I made the drive up this morning.

Up at 4 am and leaving the house at 4:30 or so. Bring it.




Fueled up and grabbed a bland convenience store biscuit.




Fancy Gap Mountain is spooky as hell with super heavy fog. The variable speed limit signs are neat. Speed limit this morning in the heavy fog was 30 mph on I77. Wtf.








We geared up and hit the creek. Pretty flow. We immediately got into rainbows.














Brookies made a showing. Small. But, brookies.










Before getting this 'bow, I spooked a nice fish in a pool. Never seen it again.














3.5 hours in we stopped for a break. Buddy boiled water and prepared MREs for the two of us. Beef stroganoff was surprisingly tasty.




We had no plastic ware so we cut up a water bottle. It worked.




What is this? Seeds? Berries? Feces? A combination?




Back to pune lovin'.












What is this plant?




After about 7 hours up the creek we hiked back down the creek and back to the vehicles once water was scarce. A fun trip.

Hungry, we found food. Pizza was grand.

I can't get over how unwatered the creek looks.  I think if would fish better in the Spring, or after a prolonged wet spell.
