Hook: Mustad 94840 #16
Thread: Black Uni-Thread 8/0
Body: Black superfine dubbing
Hackle: 5 turns grizzly
Post: White Antron
Quick question on both para ants....fi you don't mind.
One, why not use black hackle on the balk ant and brown on the orange any?Second, why not put the post between the two humps on dubbing....center the legs on the fly?
I used grizzly for visibilty, I like to fish these in the riffles near the edges under over hanging branches. In the slower runs and pools, I like to to use a plain ant pattern with hackle that matches the dubbed body, wound bewtween the body sections.
I was experimenting with the colors of the posts, to see witch one shows up better in fast water. I put the post foward on the body, to get the two distinctive segments on the body. Binding the post bewtween the two segments blurred the out line.
By putting the post foward, I was able to build up the dubbing around the base of the post to hide it.
now that's exactly what I need soon!!!! Thanks....
looks chunky in the pict. what size hooks are you using? oh,... i don't mean chunky bad i mean chunky good.
