about time for this, we've lost many legends in the recent years.

Starting off with Tom Petty who was part of the fabric of our lives...

Here is Tom Petty in concert from 1977 San Francisco!

Pastor explains icons to my son: you know like the fish symbol on the back of cars.
My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!

These two young lads had much going for them.  I'll refrain from ranting about drugs and alcohol.

Absolutely breathtaking music by Jeff Buckley

From the loins of Hank Williams.....

One day I'll wake and all my music makers of my youth and beyond will be gone.
Or I'll be gone.
TP's passing hurts.
Dammit Ken. Buckley hurts.
The list is long.
My iPod is half eulogy and trilogy.
"Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? "
Kelly's Heroes,1970

"I don't wanna go to hell,
But if I do,
It'll be 'cause of you..."
Strange Desire, The Black Keys, 2006

Still bummed out over Walter Becker. I wonder if Donald Fagen will tour anymore?

After a couple decades of playing music semi-professionally, I realized that most of the best singers and musicians were also mostly incurable alcoholics or junkies.

Same for comedians which has always fascinated me considering most of what they put out is hilarious.  being in touch with the dark side of human nature produces great art.  unfortunately it's hard to constrain.

Malcom has been in bad shape for awhile, hate to hear it. Angus, Bonn, and Brian were the flashy ones that got most of the attention, but Malcolm has always been about 70% of AC/DC.

Mr. Chris Squire.  I had the pleasure of seeing Yes in the 1970's; 1980's; 1990's; and in the 2000's.  Great times... he will be missed.

Yep. I watched Hee-Haw every Saturday night with my Dad in the sixties. Roy was a great guitarist and banjo player.
