OK, time to pay back the water that has given so much to so many.................

We need your help Saturday, September 16th. Bring your family, bring your neighbor, bring a friend. We will place an empty trash bag in their hands and buy them lunch once they return it full. Bring your fly rod and fish afterwards.  See below for details.

Smith River Clean Up – Sep 16:  This clean up is just prior to the TU Annual Meeting being held in Roanoke. A lot of visiting TU members will be fishing the Smith River and we want to show her off in a favorable light. We will meet at the Trent Hill Canoe Ramp (behind to old burned out Chair Factory) at 8:30am and fan out from there. Depending on how many show up we hope to clean the road from the dam downstream to the end of the field behind the Mirror Plant (where he who shall not be named has been dumping all his empties), the parking lot at Rosemont and the horseshoe section from Trent Hill downstream to Papa's Pizza. We will have bags and drinking water – you should bring gloves, long pants, and sturdy walking shoes. We do not anticipate anyone getting into water but bring waders if you like.  All trash will be consolidated at the Trent Hill Canoe Ramp.  Al Kittredge aakitt@earthlink.net  Cell 910-624-3457  is heading up this effort. Contact him if you have questions

We had a good turn out and a good clean up. Actually not as much trash as we have picked up in the past but that is a good thing.

Our thanks to all who showed up to help................
