Super slacker status on this but thought it would be a good distraction...

I was introduced a few years back to a solid group of guys that have been going on fly fishing trips together for over 20 years.  I've been accepted into their tribe and I try to go whenever I can since they mostly choose amazing places to visit.  This year it was Wyoming for green drake hatches.   The bugs and fish didn't disappoint.   Land laws are strict in Wyoming and this river has very little access unless you are floating and it's only floatable a few months of the year.   We had a mile of access to ourselves which was plenty of room for 6 of us.

I spent 4 days(they stayed for 8 ) and the basic routine was up early for breakfast, drink coffee/beer and BS until 10ish,  work our way to the river and nymph up a few fish until the hatch went off from 11-1ish, take break for lunch and then back for the evening caddis hatch.  I pretty much could do that forever.  Here are some pics

Stopped for some sights at the Medicine Bow National forest on the way in and out.  Wish I had more time to spend exploring

House was a shit hole and I came home with arms and legs covered in bed bug bites.  Didn't care

That's me sitting streamside after catching countless fish on sz 12 dry flies and trying to wrap my head around what just happened.  Sat there for over an hour just watching and replaying it all in my head.  Peace out fuckos 0:0
Yup, going fishing

Yea, that is awesome. Nice fish and scenery. Expanding my adventure borders is on my to do list.

Questions -

- Wtf is in the can opposite the kipper/sardine side?

- You didn't bring any bed bugs home with ya, did ya?

- Has anyone else ever been entangled in a big mess of cacti?

Dougfish

Smoked oysters and sardines

Adding cheese, pepperoni and peppers made it edible

Bout time. I assume this was a tailwater due to the lack of cutts. I hope to get out there next year.

Deev: this was the only one I took a pick of that was stuck in me. Native NC cacti

It was the Encampment River.   Cutties up higher but drakes were hatching on the lower river.   We were about a mile up stream from where it flows into the N Platte

Also, nice flatware for a dive.  d:b

Once, while quite young and dumb, rebellious, mischievous, etc., I got out of a vehicle to pound some dude's mailbox with a crowbar. Rushing along in the pitch black of night, I done the deed. After diving back into said vehicle, we turned on the interior light. From my belt down to my ankles on the fronts and inside and backs of my legs were nothing but a few thousand fine as hair cactus spines. The next three hours were spent plucking the spines out of my nether regions. I deserved it, or maybe it was worth it. The next day I returned in the daylight to examine the cacti. I was stomping around in a 10' x 10' patch of waist high cacti. Sort of like the picture below. [emoji3]

You got your penance, asshole.  ;D /'/ -+; V:;
BTW, mailbox bashing is a federal offense. Ask @Native Fisher.
