Yet another Goodyear criticism. I've yet to hear a positive remark.

Lookin' good, Dee-Vo, but they're too pretty. Need to get some mud on 'em....

Agreed. After getting the new tires put on I had it cleaned up for next week's beach trip. I'm not sure why as it'll be dirty as hell and half-filled with sand when I get back. Meh.

I have run 3 different AT tires on my F150 and the best valued one is the Firestone Destination AT. Decent price, quiet, great wet road grip, good in mud and snow.

Firestone tires are highly underrated.  I have 40k on my work truck tires, and they're only half worn.  Running Transporters HT

I had Goodys Potenza A/S on my wrx and got 82k on them. Good for 2 1/2 years. But they had changed the composition when I went to replace. Dicks.

I've always had good experiences with Goodyear Wranglers. Got 60k+ out of the last set I had, and would go like a tank in the snow and mud. They are right proud of them, though.

I bought a set of Kelly Edge ATs a few months ago that I really like so far.

There are several types of the Wrangler tire. The all-season sets that I've used have been ok - 46k or so on one set. Several years ago I had the all-terrain version that would go damned great in everything you threw at 'em. I don't recall mileage on those.

I've had more than my fair share of tire problems out West and have come  to realize that rentals car tires don't quite cut it out there.    It seems most people out there run 10-12 ply tires.    Is there a trade off with gas mileage from runnning tires that thick?
