Wife left for a girl's weekend Friday morning.  I should have gone to a more remote stream and left right after work Friday, but for some reason I have yet to determine I waited to make up my mind.

So, Saturday's trip really started on Friday night.  Just not early enough.

Knowing it was a long drive, followed by a long hike prompted a 10:30pm drive to the lake house so we could get an early start.  Always fun to go to sleep and wake up on the same day, right?

Basic Hardee's stop, followed by the gas-station water & beer run and we were headed to the trailhead.

At least the scenery is pretty, if the fishing sucked.

These sure are pretty, but I expect them to bloom later in the month at elevation.  @Dougfish tells me they are on time, though.  He also tells me the complexity of the flower will make you believe even more firmly in what you believe . . . Ol' Doug gettin' all philosophical on us.

There was supposed to be 2 for each of us, but somehow a Hell and High Watermelon just up & disappeared before I could imbibe . .

I fished every inch of this pool with an assortment of dries, nymphs, and streamers with not so much as a thought of a fish.  I will be back this summer to dive it and explore it's massive depths.  Easily an 80' x 100' pool.

Hiked over 8 miles, with elevation changes.  Fished 2 streams.  Caught zero fish.  Ate well on the drive back.

Drank well afterwards.  Oskar Blues Fugli
