You'll hate those loops. Overlap about 3" and whip finish both ends, then hit knots with some UV goo of any variety.

Pastor explains icons to my son: you know like the fish symbol on the back of cars.
My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!

Looks like a little better day! Better fishermen? Better flies?

Belly lines, bright orange eyes, tongue patch = Spotted Bass.  If my memory serves me correctly, Kentucky Spots were stocked in the Falling river which feeds the Staunton.....very dumb decision.  In Carolina, we have Alabama Bass, formerly known as Alabama spots are in the Catawba watershed, and Kentucky Spots in the Yadkin, and Cape Fear.  It appears Kentucky spots are ubiquitous in the Staunton.

Roanoke Bass have been stocked in the Deep river tribs, and are now well established in the Deep between Coleridge and High Falls, as well as the Little River in Montgomery County, and the Uwharrie.

Who wants to do a float on Good Friday, and the following Saturday?  Kinda leaning towards fishing the Pee Dee below Blewitt Falls, or perhaps bassin on the local. Wouldn't rule out a Piedmont float either.  Just wish I had room in may kayak for camping gear!  Anybody interested?

You can use that yak that I use if it'll help. Quite a bit of room for packing on a load. If you need it just let me know, and I'll bring it to the store for you. I'd love to float -- shoulder is going to keep me from doing much paddling, however. I'll likely have to stay on my feet.

I have caught a zillion bass and that fish with those extremely red eyes is not a largemouth. I think that a spot is correct.

Cosaes also have red/orange eyes
