2017 Warm Water

Who wants to do a float on Good Friday, and the following Saturday?  Kinda leaning towards fishing the Pee Dee below Blewitt Falls, or perhaps bassin on the local. Wouldn't rule out a Piedmont float either.  Just wish I had room in may kayak for camping gear!  Anybody interested?

Stripers will be in soon...my buddy picked up one apx 4 miles below where i have to take out...this coming week should get us into them

no whitey??? wth?

With this nice streak of warm weather I figured it will get whitey pushed up the rivers good. The low water has limited how many are getting further upstream. But I knew a spot that has always produced in low water. I tried the usual spots upstream with just a couple here and there.



When down to the spot and caught a couple. Then I saw some busting bait about 100 yards up stream in the shallows. So I high tail it up there and tie on a shallow water clouser an had a blast. Nothing huge but fun none the less.





Had a huge school of threadfin swimming a circle around me. With a whitey darting in every so often.



If you are looking to get in on whitey in my neighborhood, now is the time. I did see some spawing activity in the shallows.

I can guarantee you levels are a lot different today.  That river can get muddy fast with a sprinkle.  That area got well over an inch according to reports last night.
