Smith River TU has lots of great programs and activities for calendar year 2017.  We hope you will mark them on your calendar and plan to participate

Eric Tichay and Al Kittredge will set things up and staff the booth on Friday. They need some help on Saturday.  The address is 6771 Al Philpott Hwy, Martinsville, VA 24112.  It is located east of Martinsville on Hwy 58.  This link should bring it up https://www.google.com/maps/place/Angler's+Choice/@36.6821935,-79.80917,16z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x742038e7535a7482!8m2!3d36.6828126!4d-79.8038265?hl=en-US

March 2,   Regular Meeting: Fly Tying theme. We will contact a regional "expert" who will demonstrate their tying skills at the head table. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own vises and either follow along or show off their own skills as they tie their favorite fly. The fly tying theme may morph into fly tying classes offered by Eric Tichay and  Dean Phoebus if there is enough interest.

April 28-30,   Group fishing/camping trip to Mt Rogers / Grayson Highland/ Grindstone campground area:  Club pays campsite fees. Meals prepared on site and prorated among attendees.   Contact Doug Jessie if you want more info or plan to go.

May 19-21, Fish, Lie & Tie, Bassett Cabin:  Modest fee for campers so we can have dinner(s) catered, supply food, etc., excess funds to the treasury. Shane Pinkston will coordinate for cabin and will take lead on this event. Al Kittredge will assist.

June 1,  Regular meeting: "Fishing the South Holston"  Speaker TBA

June 9-11 Group Fishing Trip to South Holston:  Base out of a rental house on the South Holston. Expenses for rent and food prorated among participants.  We need a minimum of 4 with 6 or more being ideal.   Contact Dean Phoebus if you need more information or would like to go
