My Takes on PFF V 13.0

·   Fishing with Billres & Yakfisher on the Beaverdam on Friday. Lots of laughs and lots of fish. I didn't fall in the creek.
·   Swapping flies with BrentG. Those flies catch fish!
·   Low country boil by Billres & helpers.  Delicious ! ! ! ! And I didn't fall in the pot.
·   Saturday a.m. sausage cooked by Discomidge & Cmiller. Thanks, y'all.
·   One of the best fishing days in my life with JT and Brent. A serial killin' of wild rainbows all day long. I didn't even mind the blindfold. And I didn't fall in the creek.
·   WB"s excellent Loon Stew!!!! And I didn't fall in the pot.
·   To all the coffeemakers.....Thanks! Y'all saved my life in the mornings.
·   Watching the Stomp victims careen across the campground. Some were assisted, some were self-propelled.
·   Listening to all the snatches of conversation around the campfire. Enlightening, entertaining.....all the good things that campfires bring out in all of us.
·   Flytier's audition for "American Idol".
·   Meeting Cyberfish. What a nice guy.
·   Me and Bkatz....Still undefeated C'Hole Champs. May turn pro.
·   Some rain, but spaced conveniently for fishing/meals/campfires. No spirits dampened except by Stomp, Single Malt, and Woodford Reserve.
·   Ralph, thanks for sharing the tent. Again.
·   Thanks, Gary, for lugging the shelter &  burner up there for us. Sorry I missed you. Wish you'd stayed longer.
·   Thanks to all the folks who stayed and helped break down the shelter, clean up, bag the trash, etc....
·   I'm already looking forward to The Smallie Show, and seeing all you folks again.

My take.....

Psycho caravan up 421 with ODG3 and Miller.

Arriving at Shady Valley to find LLN already there.

Setting up tents and shelters in the rain and wind.

Wet feet
Trip to Abington with Brent to get dry shoes.

Brats and Jambalaya(thanks Marty and for the beer too).

Fishing the SoHo with BrentG(don't get no better).

Arriving back at camp to help scrape the bottom of the low country boil pot(awesome job Bill and Bob, ya done Croaker proud.........and I whole-heartedly agree that Billres is a true Southern Gentleman, ain't none no better than him).

The campfire Friday night....where do ya start, Brads bud doing a swan dive into the creek, sure am glad he was alright....woulda hated to of been laughing at an injured man.
Gordie being from Vermont......don't even know how to splain it, let's just say ya had to be there.....all I can say is that for about 30 minutes I thought I was gonna laugh til I puked.

Good breakfast sausage brought in by Streamer, sure made the cold gravy seem better.

All I need is an apron like Brent's.....got the rest covered.

Finding a muddy SF of the Holston Saurday morning.

Stuck in Damascus for the hippy chick parade....more pit hair than me on some of those gals.

Hittin' the Holston with Ralph, Marty and Brudog.

Big browns on dry flies.

Watching Brudog's fly line turn into backing, wish we could have seen that fish.

Loon stew, thanks Woolly and Jedi.

More campfire entertainment.

Thanks for the serenade Flytyer(I just can't get that tune outta my head).

Sunday morning coffee and biscuits.

Thanks to all that helped break down the shelters and clean up the equipment.

Glad to see Cyberfish....he sure came a long way not knowing what to expect.

Hope everyone had half as much fun as I, the smallie show sure is a long way off.

Man, I can't get that song out of my head!

Kite flying on Friday, only this kite was supposed to be a tent fly.  Sure glad BlueRidge and DD were around to help hold it down.

Having Whitetop Laurel to myself Friday afternoon.  It wasn't "perverted", but the action was enough to keep me entertained.

First fish on a rod I built myself.

First nice fish on a rod I built myself.

The gentle patter of a downpour on the tent roof in the middle of the night.  At least it quit before morning.

Hot biscuits and sausage gravy for breakfast!  Mmm, mmm!  OK 6:30am was a bit early for most of y'all.  Talk to BR about that.

Dense fog on the Mountain Sat. that didn't lift until after lunchtime.

There are still some brookies in them there hills.

Whitetop was blown out on Saturday, but the views were great!

A chilly Sunday morning with no fire.  Next year, I'm going to hide some of the wood on Sat.  Strong hot coffee helped some.  Hot bisucits and gravey helped some more.  Was 7:30 better for y'all?

Fishing Sunday morning with Flytier.
My first time on Helton creek.
My first time using a BH Woolybugger successfully.
A few more fish on my new rod.  I think I'm going to like it.

Good food, good friends, good campfires, good coffee (thanks Jule).

Can't wait till next time.
