Had to put my girl down today. She was getting to be in bad shape. Lots of tumors, hearing loss, and blindness starting. She walked around almost drunk like. It broke my heart, but it had to be done.
16 years of great memories. From her sleeping on my bed as a puppy to flushing and fetching grouse in the mountains to her warm welcomes, she will be missed, but she doesn't hurt anymore.

Sorry for your loss. The good dogs leave us way too soon.

Sorry to hear...
loosing a bird dawg is ruff.
Feeling your pain, G. Sip poured....
When a man has a dog that becomes an extension of his own consciousness, it is a beautiful thing. When they have to say goodbye to each other, it is a rough day.
So sorry G.
Sorry to hear that G. Nothing easy about putting down your dog.
Damn, man. I had to do the same thing a few months ago. That hurts. Stay strong.
Experienced the same loss in late~December... I miss that setter. I understand and wish you the best.
Sorry to hear it, one of the worst things to go through.
Sip poured. Lots of good memories to cherish over 16 years.
Just got off work and poured one for Sage; and one for Drummer.
Part of the family for sure (Woolly we need a better crying emotion - this one does not look sad enough)
