We have waited through low water (which we still have) warm water (which we do no have now) and smoke (which we had this day but is gone for now).

Interestingly the terrible smoke acted as clouds and helped the fishing.  It cleared a bit about 3 and the fishing slowed immediately.  Don't like the smoke but it sure made this day.

Fished the Jefferson River on Thursday and we started with a great Chubby bite and about noon it was ON for HOPPERS.  Between the two of us we landed about 25 nice trout from 14-18 inches.  It was the best  fishing we have had for maybe a month or more.  I think the cooler temps have finally turned the tide and fishing will get into Fall mode.  Irrigators should  be stopping shortly and we will get a water bump which will get us going.
