Made it up to the divide right at 8am, watched the sun burn off the low lying clouds and fog. Quite a sight to behold.

Anyone have a rod repairman? I suspect TFO won't fix TW Special. TX built it for my barfday 4 years ago, I don't know how it has lasted so long. I knew he would break, but not now. I am already 5 rods down this year.
PM if you got a contact. I will buy you a case of your beer of choice as "fixers" fee.
Much appreciated
Peace

Nice stuff Mike!

Funny you mention that about the last creek getting dark.  I've experienced the same thing there, storm rolled in before high noon one day and you couldn't see shit up in there.  That creek has some major canopy coverage.

bmadd

That is the easiest fix in all of rod fixing.

Good looking weekend TW.

Talk to me goose.
The ladyfriend used it for the past 4 months and then I take it on a trip n break the fackin thang. We are heading to Mt Mitchell this coming weekend to do some camping and core bluelining. I'd like to get it fixed ASAP. I'll be using the floppy dick glass rod and she would have to use a 8' 3wt which would suck.

From the picture it looks like it broke right at the tip. All you have to do is measure the "new" tip section and buy a replacement tip. Heat up a hot glue stick and put a little in the tip and slide on the rod.

You can try the rod tip you have. Use some hemos to hold the tip top with the loop facing up, and the broken tip section straight down. Try heating up the metal with heat from a heat gun or lighter and see if you can get the glue to loosen and maybe the rod section will fall out (may need a little help unless the glue gets liquid enough to run out).

Rod will be a little shorter, but your use to that!!!  d:b

bmad told you right. Cake repair.

Michael Toris

Do what bmadd said. I've done it before. Works well

croaker

Twader,  you may be able to use the original tip.
Take a drill bit a tad smaller than the hole and slowly
drill out the piece of rod.
-+;
If the tip will slid on the rod end, just
add a drop of glue and use the originanal  tip.

Cool stuff, and some nice fish. Sux about the rod, but as the others said, should be a fairly easy fix.

WTF do you insert in the tip section of a 5'10 2wt?

your dick.

a small piece of plastic works nicely

See, that first suggestion isn't very good. Tranny already posted that he wanted this rod fixed so he didn't have to fish his floppy dick'd glass rod. Here you go offering a solution that would leave him with two floppy dick'd rods.

Transylwader

Thanks all, I ain't fucking around with a domestic repair, especially on a piece of my illustrious fly fishing prowess, TW 3000 is heading to the TFO repair division. I reached out to Shufisher. I'll perform an abortion on the glass rod when it breaks. I'll even go bro video it and post it up here for y'all to laugh your assessment off.
Thanks for the "tips" ya wankers d:b
