Last day of school was Tuesday, the wife was working Wednesday and Thursday so I called my dad to see if he wanted to fish.  He got off work so I drove to Lenoir Tuesday night with a plan to fish after we took our 12 year old golden to the vet (she is 100% healthy).

We had the plan to hit 4 different streams, ended up only hitting 3 but had a great day.

Forgive some of the pics some are from my iPhone so are from my Dad's camera.

First stream we hit is one of our favorites, small water but still holds some good fish

This is the biggest hole on the stream, just as wide as my rod.  And it held an awesome fish for this stream

For the first two hours this stream was on fire we thought we were going to have a 50 fish day on this stream alone.  Around noon the bite shut down completely we picked up a couple small fish after that but they were few and far between.  We decided to head over to a couple other streams, one where my dad had hooked up on a big brown before, didn't get the brown.  This brookie came out of a cut in the bank and some roots to destroy a streamer.

Missed another brown from that same undercut, but that was all we could manage here.  Moved over to the last spot but didn't manage to catch anything. Couldn't ask for a better day fishing with my dad, we don't get to do it enough anymore.

Not to leave out the pics for Doug and others

Spot on  V:;  Glad to hear your dog is in good health.  12 is up there in age for a golden retriever.

Dee-Vo

Glad you got out together. Impressive. I'm envious, wish my dad wasn't so damned stubborn.  'c;

Nice work Franzens.   That was a nice brookie 'c;

Nice fish from that small of a stream!

Looking to do a little fishing with the old man this weekend. Won't be at near as pretty a location unfortunately.

Dougfish

I like it! All of it.

And those were two mighty impressive fish.  bd;0

where in that hole was the brown holding?

TylerDurden

Listen up, maggots. You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You're the same decaying organic matter as everything else.

The brown was holding up against the rock "wall" on the far left side of the hole.  There was pretty good current coming down on that side, doesn't show up well in the picture.

Big J yeah 12 is up there in age and she is definitely showing her age, can't jump in the car anymore.  Vets were very impressed with how healthy she was though, she is actually the last of her litter alive and outlived all of them by at least 3 years.

Nice haul. That brookie is beast. You didn't waste anytime getting a line wet.
