24 April
Joe and I head over the High Road for his first day of fishing for the season. When we get to Melrose we decide to go high and head on upstream to East Bank on the Big Hole with a float down to Jerry Creek.

It is a nice but chilly morning with the flow at about 1100 cfs or so at Melrose. Put on a dry dropper and off we go. In not too long Joe gets a nice brooke trout, and then two more. One a nice fish at about 14".

And then the wind becomes an issue but fortunately it is behind us or it would have been a long day. No more eats till after lunch, and then one brown trout maybe 15" long. Nada. The river has bumped from about 800 cfs and the Big Hole does not fish good on the rise.

It is a great day on the river but I will leave this section alone for awhile!
