After seeing a South Fork TR on Instagram, I took a quick look at he gauge and headed on up to the newly opened Farmers Fishcamp Bridge. Nice job they did but they coulda put in some boat access.

Well the river was heavily stained by the recent rain and in three hours I only got one to hit the surface, so I bailed and stopped to take a few pics on the way home.Guests are not allowed to view images in posts, please Register or Login

I grew up priming flue cured tobacco in Franklin County, NC.   Picking each individual leaf when it was ripe. The first primings was hot and sticky, came out of them fields looking like a tar baby.  Got tobacco sickness one time and that was ruff... Taking out a barn of tobacco that was in order is heaven on earth also going to the auction was also a treat that my daughter will never know.  I do know they grew cigar leaf tobacco in PA and as far north as Mass.    We rarely planted burely tobacco and I did not mind it too much.
That's real work right there folks. Curing tobacco....I live as far north in VA as you can grow tobacco, so it dwindles away as time and generations take over. I worked the tobacco fields, my Dad made me (I'm 26 yo) so I would know what "real work" is, because our cattle farm wasn't "real work". Fond memories looking back, as a middle schooler learning life lessons entirely too soon from a H1B1 Mexican in the 92 degree Southside VA heat.... Thanks for the picture, Woolly. White collar DC folks wouldn't know what hit them if they had to work like that.

There are Garrrrr over thar....

Spork was planning to go chasing the gar with the tranny, we planned and got together this past Thursday to make the trip east. Strange prehistoric beast that are caught on rope flies, why the hell not. Spork worked the entire way to the river, he usually does this while driving, but it's a little more effieient when he doen't have to drive with his knees.

Sharing the river with a couple of old birds that claimed the "hight water quality" of the river while they floated over our gar. "I hope one bites them on the arse."

Checked out a new spot for ole butthole mouth today..

Thought this was a sign that the fishing would be "HOT" today!

Well that wasnt the case. Did find a few fish, but most were small and wouldn't take. Probably won't be back to this spot for a while. Plenty of sign of Alamance County's finest citizens. Did run into two "classy" ladies on the trail laughing as the other one was puking.

Sadly, Alamance county is one the classiest counties in NC....well if one were to remove Burlington.

And Graham.  And Mebane.
My real name is Chad Farthouse.

Hey, the Biscuitville in Mebane is the center of the known universe, at least since they shut down the A&M Grill.

Been deer hunting just outside of Mebane for the last 30 years or so.
