Interesting read.  I've always questioned our recorded history.  Who knows?  Perhaps the truth will never be apparent.

New facts do no make existing ones invalid. It just makes a would narrrative more complex.

The history of Texas isn't simple.

The writer of the article could have, and should have put forth some effort to produces some figures instead of bashing. Slave numbers, slave holder numbers

Yes, there was slavery in TX, but there many other issues, such as Indian relations, and German emigration.

If there are "new facts" or if there are unfamiliar facts then "bashing" might not be the correct word to describe the article.  And if the new challenge the old, then shouldn't we question what we've been taught/told?  Sorry, I've been studying Diogenes.

Omitting the numbers is irrelevant when they are easily available.

New to me, so interesting.

What we were told is fact often are no longer fact.

Pluto is no longer a planet.  Diamonds are not the hardest material on earth.  There are now 8 kingdoms of life, not the 3 or 5 we learned in school.  Napoleon wasn't that short.  We have more than 5 senses.  Our hair and nails do no grow when we die.  Edison did not invent the light bulb.  Hebrew slaves did not build the pyramids of Egypt.  Buddha was not fat.  Witches we not burned during the Salem witch trials.
