There are crane fly patterns for trout.  I've also seen brookies eat a crane fly as well.

Crane Fly

Well, that was too easy.  It was found near a retention pond, so that explains where it came from.

I think it is a polyphemus moth cocoon (Antheraea polyphemus), but I could be wrong.

I'll buy that, as far as the bugs go, that is a green drake and a sulfur?

The 3-tailed yellow is some Ephemerella.  The Drake kind of looks like a Green Drake, BUT not exactly as the ones I've seen from Sinking Creek.  Something in the wings just doesn't add up to guttulata.

Having said that, I am certainly not on my A-game at this moment.  Preparing for my son's wedding is more than I bargained for, with song's, flowers, rehearsal food, relatives, and a pile of other crap spinning in my head.  I would not wish this on a broke-dicked dog!

On a positive note, I just bought a Gransfors Small Forest Axe for half price.

Back to bugs and peace.

I feel bad for your daughter inlaw.  I can see that wedding now, decorated with Hoarce Kephart camping themed décor, food would be catered by the soul food restaurant, and Bob Dylan albums would be set on repeat. I tried to come up with what kind of flowers you would pick out, but just the thought of you picking out flowers was funny enough.

He should have hired me for the flowers.

Baetidae?

Actually I think this is Drunella.  The size of hind wings (and I think I see 3 tails) points it towards something other than Baetidae.

BUT, I could be wrong.  It is shortly after 10am and I've already been wrong 2 dozen times this morning, according to relatives.  The marriage gods are punishing me for all my earlier transgressions.  I am thinking about taking a ball pein hammer to my testicles just for a 3-4 hour trip to the emergency room.
