I should clarify... 200mm f 2.8 lens... Nikon Dx factor 1.5 = 300....
ex - I'm not going to live with you through one more fishing season!

Pastor explains icons to my son: you know like the fish symbol on the back of cars.
My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!

Still good glass boss

I'm considering the Canon 24-105mm f4 L. Thoughts on this glass?

yeah I covet a 300 mm 2.8.  That ain't cheap.

I had an old nikkor 300 f 4.5 back on the day.   Loved that lens...

I am kinda digging the sigma 35mm 1.4.

The L will focus more accurately and not hunt.  The sigmas primes for my camera get very mixed reviews.  I would still buy one at a fraction of the cost of the 25 1.4 panaleica.

I really want the L. I am thinking the L will by my standard lens. I can get it for around 600 on ebay. The constant f4 should do fairly well since I am shooting at around f6 or f7 at 50mm. F4 at 104mm will be a nice change.

Then I may get the sigma prime for portraits and such. 1.4 aperture is baller. Helluva price tag. 350 or better

I think one complaint with the sigma is that it isnt sharp until its stopped down to 2-2.8.

I don't know Cannon lenses, but what about the 28-70 f/2.8?  How does it compare to what your looking at?  No IS, but it  looks like the same price range used:

If you ever got the 70-200, and you're gonna want to own that eventually, there wouldn't be any overlap.  You could add a 12-24 or 10-24 to round off the focal range down the road and have most of your bases covered.
