Put in near Rocky Ford @ 2:00 this afternoon, sunny, light breeze and air temp was @ 70'. Water was high and muddy and 57'. Only one other truck at the ramp.

Fished the closest stretch first and caught a couple small American Shad (Bucks).

Moved up to my favorite stretch in hopes of some bigger Americans.
Got one bite. The hook didn't stick.

Moved back to the first stretch and caught several more small Americans and a couple bigger 19-20" Americans (Roe).

Caught 8. Had about that many come loose or break off. 4x tippet don't hold up well in the logs. Most were caught using the 6wt with a 26' LC shooting head and the unnamed Shad fly... A couple on the 5wt with a 10' leader and 4 or 3 AB splitshot.

After going 0 fer 3. Was nice to finally get the '06 Shad skunk off.

Aint Shad Grand!!!
