While all of my friends went to the beach, Colorado and the Keys, I had to work at my parents auto shop for spring break. So this weekend I wanted to take a trip up to Ohio for the steelies but I couldn't afford the gas and couldn't get enough guys to carpool so I was lined up to float the Watauga with a couple friends, both of them have drifters now...(I'm jealous), but some things came up with them. so....when I heard that it was going to be 70 degrees in Brevard I really wanted to go! I convinced my brother to go with me last minute and we loaded up the jeep and hit the road.

I forgot my delorme at school so I had to try and figure out where things were..... b';
so we eventually made it to a small tributary where we caught several dink rainbows, but they were pretty and very willing to eat! caught a few on stimis!

the water got a bit tight and small so we decided to head back into town and grab some food then head over to another place. That place turned out to be on fire with fish eating dries! too bad it was slowing down fast with the sun going down, we didnt get on that creek til about 330...missed a bunch of fish. I blame the streamer fishing...I haven't been used to trout setting recently  8)
Still caught a few...several pics I cannot include due to the possibility of hotspotting  ::)

Hell yeah! Glad you got out. BTW, you can't have enough copies of DeLorme.

Hell of a nice trip report.

Too bad it looks like winter is returning later this week.   b';

Fuck, 5:28, that's some dedication.  How long of a haul was it for you all to get to Brevard?

twinbridges

That's how you do it!  and the sense of finding the right spot just adds to it.

its a little less than 3 hours or so to brevard, but an extra half hour or 45mins to the first creek cause we drove down a long bumpy gravel road
