Went to the SoHo on Thursday, planning on staying the night and fishing Friday, but when we checked the schedule they had decided to push water all day long Friday. So we made the drive back to Boone and fished a blueline Friday instead. The schedule for Saturday was much better with a bump around noon so we went back to the SoHo and did very well, the sulphurs weren't very consistent but when they did come off the fish were very eager to eat. All morning before the bump was tough, but we still caught quite a few on very light colored midges as well as the standard zebra midge. The fish were rising quite a bit in the AM to a small clear looking midge on the top of the water and I could not find anything to imitate it, they were gorging on them. Not many other people on the river were catching fish as consistently as we were, especially the quality fish. I rose a LARGE brown on a size 18 sparkle dun in the afternoon, he looked to be big enough to be measured in pounds  :o of course I missed him though..

*I was the only one with a camera so I only got pics of some of my brother's and storminmormon's fish

Big J

Very good SoHo trip if you ask me.  I'll be there in two weekends and hopefully I'll have the same results you had.

That's a nice day on the SOHO.  Glad it worked out.

Yeah you bitches still suck.  Nice chit.

If I had lived up here when I was in college and trout fished...I'd still be in college.

Aka

Good stuff.

I might have to try that stream one day.

Good stuff. We floated it on high water Monday and got into a good hatch but we stuck with chucking meat. Big J, when you guys coming? This weekend is our last race for a while so I will be fishing. If they turn the wheels on I will be there with the boat.

Hey Fish Pimp,

That was a nice profile of your pop in TROUT (TU)!

He taught me how to tie flies.  I was so bad that I had to take a remedial class with him.  I still suck but that's certainly not his fault!

Glad you had a good trip.

Rusty isn't my pop!! Just a good friend/mentor from when I dated his daughter, he taught me how to tie, build rods and he helped me with some fishing skills as well. I haven't talked to him in a while, I was supposed to help with the hosted fishing day for TU national but my class schedule didn't work out.

Thanks everybody! I think I'm a little spoiled now, I went to DH yesterday and nearly got skunked  :'(  If I keep doing well at the soho I might not be doing anything else for a while.. Hopefully going to float (finally) the Watauga tonight..(night is my only chance to go..) Ill be chucking some big streamers and maybe a mouse with my 9wt. We'll see how many times I get hit with my own flies in the back of the head..

Beetle

My bad.   I thought you were the guy I met at the Winston banquet last year.   Cheers

_Fish_Pimp

I was, I think at least. I'm commonly mistaken as his son at the banquets and meetings etc. Its all good!
