I dont see anything wrong with the sport, just wanted to see the responses from some that think they own the sport and ridicule anyone who is beginning. I guess they answered just as suspected.

Holy shit, I have missed the fucking debate. Not that I feel the need to answer you, but I will take the time in this case since I haven't been in a good debate in a while. I miss my buddy Trout's already!

Lets clear a few things up....I wasn't referring to A River Runs Through it as a stereotypical group of people within the sport, I was referring to the perception it gives to the no-fly fisher about this sport. So lets correct the above to read... not to mention it is everything wrong with the perception of this sport.

Nice catfish Heath.

I thought I was the only one who fished for catfish with a fly rod.  I landed this joker in my parent's pond two years ago this November.  Size 10 shoe there for reference.





I was fishing again there last Thanksgiving and had an even bigger one eat, fought it for 5 minutes and ended up breaking it off.

Mine gray whisker trout ate a Bunion bug right up next to a rock face.

I had to follow it down stream through a rapid.  It was pretty epic and extreme. Luckily I had placed my smokes underneath my hat so they didn't get wet.

At the end of the fight I stood holding it like a champ.  I was all dripping wet, triumphant, and sexy.  The two dudes all lathered up with Irish Spring and scrubbing each other vigorously in the pool downstream told me what a wonderful show it was.
