Petey and I linked up this past weekend for some backpacking in a forgotten part of the Mountain State.

Massive drainage, over 14 miles long, hardly any feeders. Enjoyed running dries through heaven like runs, even with the lowish conditions, she gave up brookie after brookie, didn't snap pix of the nasty roaches coz they ain't shit...

Petey found him, the true beast. I believe he was longer than John Holmes. Why do I fish for sardines in NC again? b';

I wanted a fire real badly, couldn't get the fucker to burn, a few days of rain and the humid forest left me feeling robbed of a true camping setting :'(

Saturday dawned bright and blue, full of promise.

Walked downstream for about 3 miles and fished back to camp, bigger water, big fish seen, no John Holmes brought to hand. I fucked up big "jigging" a weenie past Xanadu's face, he looked up and said "fuck off Saffa" n!n

Headed back to Petey's since a good 5 miles of stream got hammered and we figured upstream would be rather skinny with low flows

Petey was eager to show me "skidmark" fork today, I was not impressed at all. Brookies shouldn't live in shitty places >:D

The smell at the outtake was wonderful, a fresh aroma of rotten pond slush. We swiftly GTFO dodgy and fished a hammered ass creek, behind someone mind b';

This creek was so big that a high hole was virtually impossible.

those brookies look worth the hike AND the drive. well done.

@ Robs_seven: This creek was so big that a high hole was virtually impossible. It was like fishing the Watauga behind Steelrain's house, except there were 14" brookies cruising around. We did see a fish that went about 17" and I hope to God it wasn't a brookie coz that for me would be like going on a bad acid trip :o
@ Mudwall: Wymer? Are you home grown? I bet you on something thats home grown too! We were several ranges north. It's a good thing Petey can play banjo and speak mountain, or this shit talking Saffa may have ended up as a human lampshade after demanding a corned beef snadwich without mustard 8)

I think I saw a dry in some of the pics, so you and Mike were only part-time jintoes.

There ain't no rainbows in that creek.
