Gotta be in the top 10 rock songs. Ever.

I got a late start and didn't hit the lot until 11:30.
2 vehicles.
I hiked straight back and found Bobby fishing where I was going to start.
Of course.
Downstream I went.
And found the second fellow about where I wanted to start.  b';
He and I chatted, I told him the best spot to cross below us.
We got buzzed by two low flying Osprey VTOL.
He fished a bit while I enjoyed my beer and lunch and then he boogied downstream.
I tied on a soft hackle and waded up to begin my quest. No risers in sight.
Bluebird day. Too nice.

I worked my way down with a few bumps, two strong grabs that unbuttoned and one small feesh.
I waded in, texted Keith back about my location and got beer #2.
Switched to a indicator rig w/a small soft hackle above a big girdlebug.
A little heavy for the 4 weight, but hey?
Picked up another fish and then started getting heckled by the Bugger on the bank.

I broke off the rig on a shitty backcast and waded in for beer #3.
Rob came back from fishing downstream and chatted a bit more before going up to fish the lefthander's hole.
He is lefthanded.  -+;
Keith and I got buzzed by two more Osprey and he waded out with the Euro rig.

I headed up to fish the faster runs above with a fresh soft hackle/girdle bug rig.
I caught 3 more and decided I was done as a guided raft of sports drifted past us.

Keith and I started up the trail and I I left him to flog on above where I quit.
58 degrees to start, 63 at finish.
I'll be back. I wish the bugs would cooperate.

 :cheers

The raccoon moved 6 feet to the right. It's warmer now, so being thawed out things will happen quicker.

Took the spey pole. Swung a fly, a micro intruder. Had some hits and caught a fish or two. Lessen learned is that it is better to spey cast without a vest. Jis saying. The wind was wicked at times and I tossed some streamers on the 5 wt too.

I worked the spey pole again, making some progress, but still not real consistent and need to work on some casting options for dealing with the wind.
Ospreys out flying again.

#19 Friday, doesn't anybody work anymore?
Warmest February day yet, 67, gas $3.29
Pulled into the lot, Bobby, Doug and two other vehicles in the lot, crap, who goes fishing in February? I almost turned around, but was afraid that other spots would be crowded too. I decided this would be a beer and photo day, with  little fishing thrown in for good measure.
Looks like something was chowing down on the raccoon.

I tossed streamers in the left hand pool and caught nothing. Then walked down to where dougfish was and ate lunch while watching him flail away.

EJ floated through at 4, he knows my name.  :;! , he asked how it was going, slow I replied, i'm waiting for the sulphurs. He replied BWOs, I said they were sparce.

I fished until o'dark thirty and still caught nothing.

Shitty weather. BWO's Super Bowl Sunday? Lets go fishing!
37 and big fluffy wet snow on arrival.
Kitted up in a hurry to avoid getting soaked and hiked in.
Nothing happening on top in a half mile of streamside walking.

Keith gave me shit on my casting the heavy rig the other day.
Asked if I was using fiberglass.
Fuk him. I brought one of my early 50's Wonderod's and a late 30's/early 40's Pflueger Gem.
And he stayed home. n!n
Wet camera lens day.

Picked up one a on soft hackle.

Picked up four more on the beastly girdlebug.

The weather got worse. Semi whiteout at 300 feet.

A guy from Charlotte was working downstream as I was working up and out.
No rain jacket. Fleece. Said he had been upstream since 7am.
Umkay. Tip of hat, sir.
In 2 1/2 hours of properly equipped I was OK with quitting.
Accumulation was slowly happening.

Gas $3.29 maybe 40 degrees, well below freezing after sunset, partly cloudy and windy.
I knew it was going to be a windy day, but when I arrived it was calm, so I rigged up the spey pole. I had tied up some new intruders but left them on the bench.
Rocky has moved back to the right again, not too much left now.

I swung my way down Sally's pool and then worked the left hand run. All I got was a couple of grabs.
I recently listened to Tom Rosenbauer's podcast with Kirk Deter, when they were talking about catching less fish, instead of playing  numbers game, and that is what I was doing today. That's my story....
By the time I got down further the wind had really picked up and I felt like I needed an extra layer or two. More grabs and a beer break.

I stuck with my fish taco intruder all day, might be too big, or just not getting in the zone, but, I think, my snap T is improving. The only thing missing was a couple of fish to hand. Will I go tomorrow?
