After the skunking me and WB took saturday, i decided to head north to JMU and push my luck with the brookies. Saturday night found me getting shitty with all the cantankerous Jay em eww ladies, but ya'll probably wouldnt be interested in that.... i hit up Petey early this morning and since he was sick he pointed me in the right direction, i hope its just the sniffles brew and you didnt get nothin from those jay em ew broads

lord knows i probably did

got to the stream around 9:30am and boy was it looking good....

Petey had told me to put some time in and head up as far as my time would allow, the giants he told me about kept my feet moving pretty darn quick. the creek was much different than the water i'm used to up north. pools, deep runs, and white water is what i focused on, usually the brookies i fish for are in streams with lots of pocket water and still water pools so this was different for me but i was up for the challenge. about 30 mins into it i got my first SNP brookie...im still iffy on these feesh, they look like creepy midgets

I kept working my way upstream. the creek would close in for a couple hundred yards making the casting very tight, but then open back up as it picked up feeders. i fished for another hour with not even a nudge until i got to this hole...

i fished for about another hour working upstream slowly but surley, sadly no dice..... even though i didnt put up big numbers or catch any pigs i had a great time. I had forgotten how much i love the small stream action, it had been far too long. JMU and the SNP are going to quickly become a second home i think, and im a-ok with that...walked out to the car and enjoyed the last of some of kentuckys finest...
