End of the Year Winter Redfish

Ran down to the coast right before Christmas for a shot at a few redfish, weather was great, but dem damned feesh was hard to find

Finally after a few redfishless trips in the past year or so-payday

Early Morning on the Last Day

Nobody catching any fish but these folks, we saw more than a few

Ah ha. I just saw a recipe for it in CCA's newest magazine and was going to give it a shot.

The secret is to get all of your other ingredients nice and cooked and have it at a ROLLING boil and then add your shrimp in the last step.  As soon as you add the shrimp, cut off the heat and just let them soak in there for another 10-15 minutes before you drain it and serve.  Also, I highly recommend the boil packets as opposed to the liquid boil, but that's probably just my personal preference.

what proximity was that in?  I've been throwing like hell southern coast of NC with little to show past few weeks which is what I expect with no boat.  Find fish but it's a desert and averaging about 1 a week.

Nice fish btw. Buddy called me said he caught 6 slot reds today panhandle of FL.  Thinkin of runnin south sooner than previously thought, this winter is off...
