Hey Shitfly,
Of course you think it's OK, I see you have used the same tactics
As much as I enjoy MM's post, he takes nice photos, and catches some nice fish in some beautiful places. I don't like the tactic of trying to trade fish porn for blog traffic. Now days it seems everyone wants to be a blogger, and site traffic is certainly one indication of success. He posted this same report with a link to his blog on a couple different sites. Just my opinion, I certainly didn't mean for anyone to get their panties in a bind over it.
I hear ya. The difference is after I posted a link to my blog Wooly kindly pointed me in a direction to let me know that wasn't considered cool in these parts. And then I thanked him. It was a pretty easy exchange. Seems to me that muddler likes to post TR's on the internet and you like to post TR's on the internet. He probably likes to see his blog traffic increase, you probably like to watch you post numbers grow. We might be splitting hairs for that not to be a pot calling the kettle black situation. And Spam!? He making the same amount of money off his blog as you are on this forum. I like this forum. I think it the best local forum around. But I cringe to think it could turn into the cyber bullying, circle jerk, porn forum know as The Drake (which has been cleverly disguised as a fly fishing forum). Maybe its just a way for pervs to look at porn with out their wives knowing. Or maybe its a way for people to create a big fish in a small pond scenario from behind the safety of a computer screen, creating a fraternity of pervs, pot heads, and cyber weenies. I love wooly's rule number 1, and hope this board can loosely adhere to it.
As I implied before, I'm more into fishing than talking fishing on the internet, or talking about proper etiquette for talking about fishing on the internet, and I'm leaving the computer now to go fishing. I am trying to post more, as has been suggested, but I probably won't spend any more energy weighing in on this topic any time soon, so feel free to jab away.
