Raleigh Bluelining
« on: July 24, 2010, 18:55:23 PM »
So today the temp hit trip digits here in the triangle. 101F to be exact. I still had buzz on from hell as usual and I bailed off to Foodlion for my fix of Redbull, Gatorade (better than cheap beer btw, just mix some vodka in) a pack of cigarettes and snickers. Since I was in my work car, so was my broomstick, so I called my wife to let her know I would be out for a while. Hit this crick which doesn't have a name. It flows through a classy neighborhood and since the Raleigh Parks and Rec service maintain the outskirts of the neighborhood becuase on of the Bigger raleigh parks is above it, in fact the entire watershed, the water is as clean as a whistle, so you are forgiven thinking this looks like a trout stream. If only all developers were responsible as these builders were, they have BMP's throughout the 'hood so the water is always in great shape unlike some other shit ass builders who have the local municipality's in their back pockets... I have fished it hundreds of times and love it coz it's excellent practise for the real deal, my brookie streams in T/H and S-Counties. By about 2PM, I dunno if the drunkenness was making way for a hangover, but I was hitting the wall. So I bust out a gatorade, downed that and attempted eating the now melted to diarrohea shit snickers and continue fishing, coz I knew once I left and I got home, I would have to start cleaning and also drink some more coz I can...man, I love me some fly fishin'
Here are some pix of the Piedmonts feeshes. The Red Belly Sunfish sure do have some striking colors. Dunno if you can class this as a Piedmont slam, but I caught sunfish, chub and some sort of shiner.
Hope you gents are staying cool this weekend, it is brutal out there...

My wife is hitting Florida next weekend ( the Floridiots driving alone mesmerizes me) and I will be in Transylwader Country, y'all don't be strangers now.

Yeah New Castle is mighty tasty... We usually bring Tecate, Modello, Highlife(which is piss), or PBR on the water, which is cheap beer and it goes down smooth. Toss in some Wally World fried chicken and we are set. If we are lucky my amigo Jamey will bring some Moose Drool or a Hop Slam.

When I get back from out west, I will have an intervention with you about bluelining and we can go brownlining for bass and carp.

I'd like to get in on that. I can bring the peebers, which is helpful in any intervention.
