"Travers Corners" series - Scott Waldie
« on: October 10, 2009, 22:02:26 PM »
This three book series by Scott Waldie is well worth a read. Basically a story of a small community in MT (I have heard it is modeled around Twin Bridges), and a fishing guide / drift boat builder. Funny at times, but often insightful as well - thoughts on competition between guides, fishing clients - both good and bad, and personl relationships in a small town. Only problem is the series is only three books long.

This is indeed an excellent series. Scott Waldie died a year or so ago, but I think that the Travers Corners stories had been pretty well wrapped up at the end of the third book anyway.
It is sad to have lost such a talented writer. I'm sure that Scott could've done much more had he lived. His writing skill and style is truly memorable.
