TU's Sage 590-4ZXL rod & Lamson Konic reel offer

I am thinking about taking TU up on their offer of a Sage 590-4 ZXL rod with Lamson Konic 2 reel offer in return for a new Lifetime Membership program.

Has anyone taken them up on it or fished this combo of rod and reel?

Seems like at retail prices (+800 for combo) these must be pretty good products - but how do they cast? If you have fished that outfit, please share your thoughts

I got a lifetime membership about 8 years ago... Sage 590-4 SP  5 weith 9 foot for piece SP -- still my fav rod...

i'm sure the latest graphite is faster than the sp....


however, now I'm more inclined to support AmericanRivers.org over TU just my 2 cents....
