Potomac Shad
« on: March 24, 2008, 09:14:11 AM »
I stopped in at Fletcher's Cove on the Potomac on Saturday afternoon.  The river was a bit high and muddy, but there were some bait slingers pulling in a few modest catfish.  According to the folks at the concession stand, one hickory was caught last week.

I saw some other hopeful shad fishermen take a look at the water then leave due to conditions.  If it were mid-April, we'd probably be trying anyway.

I bought my license, so I got that little chore out of the way.  Gotta love $13 for a non-resident.

Soon.
