Wild, Wild West......I'm back!
« on: July 31, 2006, 07:55:54 AM »
Wow. What a trip!
A very brief summary of the Great Western Fishing Expedition:

1657 miles and one dent in the used to be brand-new rental car (Thank you FT for insisting on the insurance!!)
I left a tip under the floormat for the guy who's gonna have to detail it...
From landing in Great Falls, MT to the Tetons through Yellowstone, I fished:

Lake Agnes (Bless you Dave & Jyl, what a way to start off the trip!)- Grayling
Lamarche Creek- Brook trout
Snake River- a fine 20" Snake River Finespot Cutthroat
Unknown Trib of the Snake- SN Finespots
Yellowstone River- Cutts
Madison River- have I got a story for you....! Rainbows & Brown
Gallatin River- Nantahala on steroids- Rainbows
Firehole- Yellowstone Cutt? or Cuttbow??
Hoback Canyon- unknown type of cutt-
Teton creek whose name escapes me (notes @ home)- cutts & whitefish
Jerome Rocks Lakes- Westslope Cutts

For a possible.....ohpleaseGod.....Cutt Slam.

I'm exhausted, beat up, scratched, banged up, limping, saddlesore (calm down FatAl),cactus-stabbed,
sleep-deprived and not sure what town I'm in....
and could not have had a better trip!
Thank you for all the input & info & warm thoughts while I was gone.
Soon as I figger out how to post pics, I'll sort one or two out of the 735 I took....!

Got to jump in here so as to be the first on the board to welcome you back.

Sounds like you have enough memories to come up with several good stories. Once you get caught back up, how about a thread for each water you fished on or each day of the trip. That way we can all live it vicariously through your eyes and rod arm.

Now is not the time for procrastination!  Smack the artistic muse about the head and shoulders and get to typing!  Glad you had a good time.
Why aren't there any saltwater streams?
