_Fish_Pimp:
I finally got to take a western trip since I had a place to stay in West Yellowstone with storminmormon. We fished inside of the park for 7 of the 9 days at places in the northeast corner and a bunch of creeks and rivers a little closer to the trailer. The hot weather made the fishing tougher than normal and right after we left they closed the Madison and Gibbon in the park so yea it was a little warm for the trouts. We did fairly well, but it we had to work for fish. In the NE corner we couldn't catch a break with big cutties, we continually lost and broke the big fish off, there was a lot of rain in the days before we fished so they were off too. Dylan, the other guy that went with us landed a big Yellowstone cuttie (that is only on video and hes putting a collection of videos together now and I'll put it up as soon as I get it) and I ended up with a hook in my hand trying to land it. Good thing we followed the rules and pinched the barbs. We fished up through the 'canyon' section of slough up into the first meadow since we only fished it a half a day. the canyon fish were mainly small with a few larger fish mixed in, it was cool with the scenery and rock climbing too, the rocks there are a tad bigger than ours I think  ::)

I got the chance at only one truly big fish on the Madison out of the park, it came off in the super fast water. My brother had a 25 inch brown come off at the net below 3 dollar bridge and we also fished a day between the lakes and the golden stones were keyed in on, I caught some very nice fish on big dries and my brother caught a giant whitey as well. That section is pretty tough fishing, it was very dangerous crossing there too.
Some of the creeks in the park that we fished had some very very large fish in them, but I don't wanna mention them. I saw at least a 5 pound brown cruising around in a trib to Hebgen lake and also my brother missed a big brown on a submerged hopper! he just didn't set the hook...he said he couldn't see it, we were screaming!

We drove out from NC and I planned to fish a section of the Green on the way in that gets absolutely zero pressure, and we did really well there landing quite a few small fish and a couple chunky rainbows too, the biggest fish broke off or magically pulled off..as always  b'; we only got to fish that for a few hours before making the final part of the drive up to Yellowstone.

I made the last minute call to stop at a small creek on the side of the road in the very western edge of Wyoming, we hit the jackpot with the Bonneville cutties. We caught too many fish to count in just a few hours, they didn't seem like they had ever been fished, we didn't catch any big fish, but the holes were deep and I'm sure if we would have dredged it a large fish would have been found. It was a great little creek  /'/

We definitely weren't like all of the others in the park not venturing more than 70' from the car, we hiked into pretty far into most places before we started, we saw bison fighting, giant porcupines sneaking up on us and making hilarious noises, massive bull elk, a bull moose, and a stealthy gray wolf trotting along, but we were glad we didn't run into any grizzly bears the whole trip, the only one we saw was a black bear sow and her cubs on the roadside.

The quote of the trip was from when we went to this one place, on the hike in an old guy said, "ya know there aren't any fish in those geysers right?"
Another that we heard a lot was "Are ya comin' er goin"

This is pic heavy with plenty of landscapes so there are more than just 'oh look there's a guy with a fish' pictures. Hope you all enjoy!

and I'm going to just start with the landscape pics first, photobucket is being extra slow today..

I'll post some more later! and I took most of the creek names out just to make sure hotspotters don't find anything. and you gotta be one hell of a hotspotter to make the 2000 mile trip just to fish where someone else fished anyway!  >:D for the hotspotters, you guys should just stick to fishing between the lakes on the madison...cross wherever it looks deepest and also attempt to fish the grand canyon of yellowstone below the falls while youre at it, huge fish in there  :P

colorado cutts, pretty sure they're stocked on the green, if not they're just thick in there like mosquitos and they'll bite anything..they filled the gaps when we were locating the smart big fish.
